Default SEO Book - Training Program

I have finally signed up for SEO Books training program - it carries a monthly fee of $100 per month (I got in at $50 per month). It is a lot of money for me anyway but after several years of not being able to break past the $xx,xxx yearly mark I decided to join Aaron's program. Yup there is no more SEO Book - I never did buy it.

I am hoping to learn from Aaron's training modules and really what has attracted me was the community forums. I must say so far that I have been impressed with the training materials but more impressed with Aaron's involvement on the online community.

I have learned a bunch so far and will be applying them to Branica as well as some other sites that I own and others that I do some consulting too. I think in the short term that I will lose out on some traffic while investing more $$$ but in the long haul I will gain more loyal traffic. So is the hope !

You must also see that I have been promoting Aaron's program above. It is a limited membership program so my income potential is limited but I really believe in what Aaron says. And I am confident that his advice will pan out for my sites. Consider some free authority advertising for Aaron despite the redirect linking since I am using OpenX to serve up the ads.

One of my goals is to work at home. I actually set the goal a few years back and now I have one year to make it. I am going to try damn hard to get there and while I have not exactly wasted the past few years... however I did spend too much time on shortcuts perhaps.

I'll keep this up-to-date with how my sites do including this one and how the other sites are doing too.

I have been cleaning up this site:
  • Dumping low value content using the robots.txt file
  • Cleaning navigation to shape PR to my more important pages
  • Only pointing to good sites to put my site in the right neighborhood (virtual real estate I guess).
Some of my keywords have stablized a bit since I have made some of these changes. I am most curious on what will happen when many pages will be de-indexed eventually. I will be checking on the number of indexed pages and traffic.

So far, I consider this to be the most important membership site. I has made me a better webmaster and to focus and more importantly stop wasting time.

One of the cool aspects of Aaron's site is how he is creating tools / videos / interviews just for members only beyond his free tools. For example:

Website Health Check - this is very handy

Does all sorts of checks on your websites for duplicate content, missing or duplicate titles, etc.

Duplicate Content Checker

We created a new duplicate content checker Firefox extension that you can use to find people scraping your content.

It has been 5 months since joining. And I am slowly but steadily growing my income. Aaron continues to be active and still provide great insights. Though I wish, there was a better way to gleam the best of the best of threads.
