Default Stopping Spam Harvesters?

Being a webmaster, I really hate email spam. Those damn email harvesters!

Here is a great little article about what you can do about it. It looks like you really have two choices:

*Use Simple Ascii Text
*Spam Poison

I used simple ascii text on http://www.branica.com/contact.html. Check out the source code on the page to see the ascii code.

I have been looking into using types of spam poison within my site. In fact if I use it within the Branica site, then it would be a side benefit for all of those using our counters!

Default amen!

i've been munging (that's what they call it for some odd reason) my email for years. The ascii characters even work in form mail.

I never get domain spam...just some spam to one of my isp accounts...which I ended up deleting.

I'm writing a page on this and instructions on my site. Hopefully people will get the clue!

One other thing is that if you post comments on MT blogs, unless you leave a url, the mail shows. There's an easy way around it but people rarely tweak out the code necessary to stop showing email. Sad.
